A Little Bit About Attachment Parenting
I try to practice attachment parenting as much as possible. Attachment parenting (AP) is more of a group of guidelines than a solid set of rules to follow. (Others may try to act otherwise, but ignore them. They’re just judgey.)
AP is all about responding to your baby’s needs, natural family living, and gentle discipline. Many AP’ers don’t vaccinate their kids, homeschool or send their kids to alternative schools, breastfeed for over a year, wear their babies in slings, co-sleep, and have a homebirth or a natural birth. Many people don’t do everything, which is fine.
AP is the natural way to raise a baby, in my opinion. The only problem is you have to deal with judgey people or folks who think you’re insane. People either think you’re too AP or not AP enough.
Well, this is just a simple intro to AP. I’ve been doing too much writing that I’ve run out of steam right now. So I’ll post the real issues coming up.
